Position: Mastercam Programmer (VMC & CNC Lathe)

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mastercam Programmer with hands-on experience in programming for 3+1 axis VMC and CNC lathe machines. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating efficient, accurate CNC programs, optimizing tool paths, and supporting production to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities
Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam for 3+1 axis VMC and CNC lathe operations
Interpret 2D/3D drawings, GD&T, and part specifications to plan machining strategy
Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters (speed, feed, depth of cut), and work-holding methods
Perform simulation and verification of programs before shop floor release to avoid collisions and errors
Optimize tool paths to reduce cycle time and improve surface finish
Set up and prove out programs on the shop floor; troubleshoot and modify programs during trial runs
Coordinate with machine operators and production team for smooth job execution
Maintain program library, tool lists, and setup sheets for repeat jobs
Suggest process improvements for reducing machining time and material wastage
Ensure adherence to quality standards and safety protocols

Required Skills & Qualifications
Diploma/ITI/Degree in Mechanical, Tool & Die, or Production Engineering (or equivalent)
Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Mastercam programming
Strong working knowledge of 3+1 axis VMC programming (indexed 4th axis)
Solid experience with CNC lathe programming (turning, facing, grooving, threading operations)
Good understanding of G-codes/M-codes, machine controllers (Fanuc/Siemens)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
Knowledge of cutting tools, feeds/speeds, fixtures, and material properties
Familiarity with tolerances, surface finish requirements, and inspection basics
Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
Good communication skills to coordinate with operators, quality, and production teams

Preferred/Added Advantage
Experience with tool path simulation and verification software
Exposure to 5-axis programming (bonus, not mandatory)
Knowledge of SolidWorks/AutoCAD or similar CAD software
Experience in a job shop or precision component manufacturing environment
