We are looking for an experienced VMC Designer & Programmer with hands-on experience in aluminium extrusion die design and manufacturing.
The candidate will be responsible for designing extrusion dies, preparing CAD/CAM models, generating CNC programs and manufacturing dies on FANUC-controlled Robodrill VMC.
The role involves working from customer profile drawings through die design, CAM programming, VMC machining, inspection and die correction.
Candidates should have a strong understanding of aluminium extrusion profiles, die bearings, metal flow and die correction.
Hands-on experience with FANUC CNC / Robodrill and CAD/CAM software is essential.
The candidate should be capable of independently handling complex die machining and troubleshooting machining/design issues.

Key Responsibilities
- Design aluminium extrusion dies based on customer profile drawings and extrusion requirements.
- Prepare 2D drawings and 3D CAD models of extrusion dies.
- Design and optimise die geometry, bearings, pockets, ports, bridges, reliefs and machining allowances.
- Analyse profile geometry and identify potential extrusion and die-manufacturing problems.
- Develop CAM programs/toolpaths for roughing, semi-finishing and finishing operations.
- Generate and verify CNC programs for FANUC-controlled Robodrill VMC.
- Set up and operate the Robodrill, including work offsets, tool offsets, tool setting and job setting.
- Select appropriate cutting tools and optimise speeds, feeds, step-down and step-over.
- Machine extrusion dies to required dimensions, tolerances and surface finish.
- Carry out in-process inspection and make necessary tool-offset/program corrections.
- Coordinate with the extrusion team during die trials and analyse profile inspection/trial reports.
- Modify die designs and CNC programs based on trial results and required die corrections.
- Maintain CNC programs, CAD drawings, revisions and die correction records.
- Improve machining cycle time, tool life, die accuracy and first-trial success rate.
Requirements
- 3–8 years of relevant experience in aluminium extrusion die design/manufacturing, CNC/VMC programming or tool & die manufacturing.
- Strong practical knowledge of aluminium extrusion dies and extrusion profiles.
- Hands-on experience in FANUC CNC and preferably FANUC Robodrill VMC.
- Experience in CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, SolidWorks, SolidCAM or equivalent.
- Ability to independently read 2D drawings and 3D profile models and convert them into manufacturable die designs.
- Good knowledge of CNC machining, cutting tools, speeds & feeds and precision finishing.
- Knowledge of die correction based on extrusion trial results will be highly preferred.
- Diploma / ITI / B.E. / B.Tech. in Mechanical, Production, Tool & Die or related field.
- Candidates with hands-on experience in both extrusion die design and FANUC Robodrill programming will be preferred.
