Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Sheet Metal Designer with hands-on experience in AutoCAD and SolidWorks to develop designs and manufacturing drawings for sheet metal fabrication.

The candidate should have practical knowledge of converting designs into production-ready components and should understand laser cutting, CNC punching, press brake bending, welding and assembly processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D manufacturing drawings using AutoCAD.
• Create and modify 3D sheet metal models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Prepare GA drawings, part drawings, fabrication drawings and assembly drawings.
• Develop designs for DG/acoustic enclosures, electrical panel enclosures, battery/BESS enclosures and other sheet metal products.
• Apply proper bend allowance, K-factor, bend deduction, tolerances and sheet thickness.
• Prepare flat patterns/developments for sheet metal components.
• Prepare BOMs and material specifications.
• Coordinate with production and fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical and manufacturable.
• Make design modifications based on customer requirements and production feedback.
• Check drawings for dimensions, tolerances and accuracy before release.
• Maintain drawing revisions and proper documentation.

Mandatory Skills

• Hands-on working experience in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• 3–4 years of relevant experience in sheet metal design/fabrication.
• Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes.
• Practical knowledge of laser cutting, CNC punching, press brake bending, MIG/spot welding and assembly.
• Good understanding of CRCA, HR, GI, aluminium and stainless-steel sheets.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Good knowledge of dimensions, tolerances and fabrication requirements.

Preferred Industry Experience

Candidates with experience in DG canopies/acoustic enclosures, electrical panels, industrial enclosures, battery/BESS enclosures or similar sheet metal manufacturing will be preferred.

Qualification

Diploma / B.Tech / ITI – Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Immediate joiners and candidates with strong hands-on sheet metal design experience will be preferred
