VMC Operator Responsibilities (Siemens Controller)

1. Operate VMC machine using Siemens CNC controller.
2. Load and verify VMC programs before machining.
3. Set work offsets and tool offsets correctly.
4. Clamp job properly and ensure safe machine setup.
5. Check drawing, process sheet, and machining requirements before starting work.
6. Inspect first-off component dimensions and maintain quality during production.
7. Monitor tool wear and replace tools when required.
8. Record production quantity, rejection, and machine downtime.
9. Maintain coolant level and machine cleanliness.
10. Follow all safety procedures and use PPE.
11. Report machine alarms, breakdowns, or quality issues to the supervisor immediately.
12. Perform basic daily maintenance as per machine checklist.
13. Ensure proper handling and storage of finished components.
14. Maintain 5S and housekeeping around the machine.

Required Skills

1. Reading engineering drawings and GD&T basics.
2. Use of Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Bore Gauge.
3. Understanding of tolerance limits and surface finish requirements.
4. Basic Siemens Controller offset verification and correction.

Note: Operator should have knowledge of Siemens CNC control operation, program loading, offset setting, alarm handling, and basic troubleshooting.
