We are looking for a skilled VMC Setter & Production Operator to operate CNC Vertical Machining Centers with Fanuc and Siemens controllers. This is a production role involving repetitive machining of the same workpieces using pre-approved CNC programs. Programming is not required. The role focuses on machine setup, maintaining production quality, achieving production targets, and supervising machine operators.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up VMC machines for production using existing CNC programs.
- Load and run approved Fanuc and Siemens CNC programs.
- Perform fixture setting, workpiece setting, tool setting, and work offset adjustments.
- Conduct first-piece inspection before starting production.
- Monitor machining operations to ensure consistent quality and productivity.
- Measure components using precision measuring instruments and maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Make tool offset corrections and replace worn tools as required.
- Troubleshoot routine machining and setup issues to minimize downtime.
- Ensure machines run efficiently throughout the production shift.
- Guide, train, and supervise CNC machine operators.
- Allocate work and monitor production activities of operators.
- Maintain production records and report machine or tooling issues to the concerned department.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain workplace cleanliness (5S).
Required Skills
- Knowledge of VMC machine setup and operation.
- Familiarity with Fanuc and Siemens CNC controllers.
- Ability to read engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of cutting tools, fixtures, work offsets, and machining parameters.
- Ability to use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership ability to manage and coordinate production operators.
- Commitment to quality, productivity, and workplace safety.
Qualifications
- ITI, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related trade.
Note
- CNC programs are already prepared and approved.
- No CNC programming or CAD/CAM knowledge is required.
- The role is focused on production setup, machine operation, quality control, and operator supervision.
